Adam Picks Up a Transgender

Sitting along the short L stretch of the bar, Adam admired the pretty girl sitting most the way down the longer length of the bar. Her blonde hair was long and curly. Her tight dress had a swoop front that showed plenty of cleavage. He knew the rumors. She wasn't completely a "she." She was a chick with a dick. Don't be fooled by her long fingernails or lipstick. If he checked out her long, lean legs; he was checking out a dude's legs. If Adam looked carefully, he noticed her pronounced Adam's apple. Only a dudes have Adam's apples, he had been told. He guessed it was true. He didn't know. He watched the way she smile and flirted. If she was a dude beneath the skirt of that dress, she sure didn't act like it.

He knocked back his beer and ordered another. It was his last night in town, his last night in this hotel and the last time he thought he'd show his face in Miami. He was ready to go home, even if home was nothing more than a one bedroom apartment in Milwaukee. The inspections were done. The store he had been building had received its certificate of occupancy this morning. The last of his help were driving trucks home. Adam sat at the bar without a co-worker for the first time. He drank and stared at the girl who was supposed to be more than a girl. He wondered why she drank in a hotel bar. Did she live in town? Did it matter? Terrance had said she drank at the hotel bar to pick-up guys from out of town who wouldn't know she was a chick with a dick. It made sense.

"Need another?" the bartender asked. Adam nodded. When the bartender delivered a new glass filled with beer, Adam asked him about the blonde. "Yeah, the rumors are true. Might be fun. I don't know. I just serve drinks. She's pretty though, isn't she?" It wasn't a ringing endorsement, but it was confirmation of a sort. "You want an invitation?" the bartender asked.

"You her pimp or something?"

"No, I just know she likes construction workers. She gets tired of businessmen."
